Vietnamese rocker Hưng BlackhearteD joins Recording Academy as Grammy voting member

Rock musician Hưng BlackhearteD (Trần Tiến Hưng), leader of the bands Dạ Ma and Black Infinity, has been accepted as a voting member of the Recording Academy, the organization that oversees the Grammy Awards. In this role he will take part in the Academy’s professional activities and have the right to cast votes in the Grammy nomination and award process.

The appointment follows more than ten years of activity in both Vietnam and the United States, during which he collaborated with producers and artists in Hollywood and submitted a portfolio that included releases on his Young Guns Records label. BlackhearteD said the membership is an honor and a responsibility, and he hopes it will create new opportunities to showcase Vietnamese musical and cultural elements to an international audience.
