Vietnamese singer Maya discusses single motherhood

Vietnamese singer and actress Maya, born Mai Thu Huong in 1988, has shared details regarding her journey as a single mother. While her career as a model, singer, and actress was active, she traveled to the United States to give birth to her daughter, nicknamed Bo Cau, in late January 2015.

Following the birth, Maya returned to Vietnam to ensure her daughter could be raised near family in Hanoi. She has maintained privacy regarding the identity of the child's father, though she noted that she and the father maintain a proper relationship to fulfill their responsibilities to their daughter. Maya currently focuses on her career and her child rather than seeking marriage or a new relationship.
