Vietnamese singer Mạnh Quỳnh talks about Hanoi live show dream and family life
"My dream was to do two concert nights, one in Ho Chi Minh City and one in Hanoi," singer Mạnh Quỳnh said on The Khang Show. He explained that a 20‑year anniversary live show in 2016 could only be staged in Ho Chi Minh City for economic reasons, but hopes a 30‑year celebration will allow a grand concert in Hanoi. Quỳnh also reflected on his stage name, sharing that he adopted the name of composer Mạnh Quỳnh after a 1995 recording session.
He also spoke about scaling back his performances to spend more time with his family. After his older child asked why he was always on tour, Quỳnh decided to reserve holidays and reduce shows, noting that his son now feels like a guest at home. He emphasized the importance of family, describing his own childhood hardships and his efforts to support his children’s education and interests, even though they are not pursuing music themselves.
