Vietnamese Singer Đăng Khôi Pauses Career to Care for Mother’s Cancer Treatment in Singapore

Vietnamese pop singer Đăng Khôi announced on a talk show that he temporarily halted his artistic activities at a peak in his career to support his mother, who was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a serious bone‑marrow cancer. He explained that his mother’s condition rapidly deteriorated, damaging six vertebrae, and that the family sought treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore.

The treatment plan included spinal reconstruction with artificial vertebrae, chemotherapy and an autologous stem‑cell transplant. After about seven months the mother’s health began to improve, and thirteen years after the initial diagnosis she is now able to eat, sleep and exercise normally. Đăng Khôi emphasized that family wellbeing outweighs professional ambitions, and his wife Thủy Anh has also been involved in caring for his mother.
