Vietnamese singer Quang Dũng says a show earns only enough for a few bowls of pho

Vietnamese overseas singers Quang Dũng and Hồng Ngọc spoke on The Khang Show about the modest earnings they receive from live performances. Dũng recalled that, in the early days of their careers, they often sang ten or more shows from sunrise to night, yet the performance fee was so low that “the money from one show can only buy two or three bowls of pho.”

Hồng Ngọc added that despite their fame and the ability to travel frequently, the cost of business‑class airfare remains a shock, even though airlines often upgrade them as a perk. Both singers expressed gratitude for their continued ability to work in music while noting the stark contrast between their struggles and the hardships faced by many others in the industry.
