Vietnamese singers Nguyen Van Chung and Manh Quynh share memories and backstage anecdotes

Nguyen Van Chung posted a 21‑year‑old photograph of himself on stage with singer Khánh Ngọc, showing the duo performing the hit ballad "Vång trăng khọc". The image sparked nostalgic comments from fans who recalled the early 2000s Vietnamese pop scene. Chung also recounted the song’s inspiration, describing how a night by the sea and the image of a crying moon shaped his lyrics, and noted that the track was later licensed for translation in China.

Manh Quynh, a 56‑year‑old Vietnamese vocalist now based in the United States, talked about his habit of teasing fellow bolero singers such as the late Phi Nhung, Hương Thụy and Như Quynh during live shows to keep audiences entertained. He explained his recent shift toward younger‑pop repertoire, the challenges of balancing family life with touring, and his decision to stay home during major holidays to spend time with his two sons. Quynh also mentioned that his American‑born wife rarely listens to his music.
