Vietnamese state banks ink major financing deals with GTEL and T&T Group

On 21 July 2026, the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) and the Global Technology‑Telecom Co. (GTEL), a Ministry of Public Security enterprise, signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement covering 2026‑2030. The pact will see BIDV providing capital, banking, investment, insurance and modern financial services for GTEL’s priority projects, while GTEL will contribute expertise in data‑centres, cyber‑security, artificial intelligence and digital platforms to support the bank’s digital transformation initiatives.

A week later, on 28 July, T&T Group and the Vietnam Development Bank (VDB) concluded a partnership to expand state‑sponsored investment credit for strategic projects. VDB will evaluate medium‑ and long‑term loan facilities for T&T Group’s infrastructure, energy, logistics and industrial park ventures under approved credit limits. Chairman Do Quang Hiển said the agreement will enable “efficient, safe and purpose‑driven use of state investment credit,” and VDB’s chairman Le Van Hoan highlighted the private group’s role in national development.

Both agreements aim to boost Vietnam’s economic growth by pairing state‑owned financial institutions with private and public‑sector enterprises to secure funding and advance technology‑driven projects.
