Vietnamese TV Host Diễm Quỳnh Warns of Fake Government Portal Scam

Vietnamese TV presenter and deputy head of entertainment Diễm Quỳnh shared that she almost fell victim to an online scam after receiving a text about a VND 50,000 traffic fine. The message contained a link to a website that closely mimicked the official National Service Portal, leading her to consider paying the fine.

She posted the experience on social media, noting that many other media personalities had received similar messages. The fake site is designed to steal personal data and bank details by prompting users to log in or install malicious software. Police have warned citizens to use only the official portal address https://dichvucong.gov.vn, avoid unknown app installations, and report suspicious sites or links.

Authorities also advise users to verify the authenticity of any government‑related communications, especially those requesting payment for fines, taxes, or other services, and to secure their devices against unauthorized access.
