Vietnamese universities celebrate academic excellence and graduations

Several major universities in Vietnam held ceremonies to celebrate academic achievements and welcome new academic years.

Hanoi Open University organized a program for the 2026-2027 academic year, honoring 16 valedictorians and 22 top entrance students from the previous year. During the event, President Nguyen Thi Nhung emphasized the importance of lifelong learning, independent thinking, and adaptability in the era of artificial intelligence and digital transformation. She encouraged students to use technology as a tool for research without allowing it to replace critical thinking.

Meanwhile, Foreign Trade University held its second graduation ceremony of 2026 at the National Convention Center in Hanoi. The ceremony recognized over 1,700 graduates, approximately 25% of whom achieved excellent academic standing. Among the honorees was Nguyen Thanh Binh, the valedictorian of the Advanced Economics Program with a GPA of 3.98/4.0, who delivered a speech encouraging her peers to pursue meaningful actions and contribute positively to their communities.
