Vietnamese veterans dedicate lives to searching for fallen comrades

Veterans in Vietnam are dedicating their later years to searching for the remains and identities of fallen comrades from the war.

Đỗ Tuấn Đạt has spent 27 years collecting documents, maps, and files to locate soldiers who died on the battlefield. His efforts include investigating sites like a mass grave discovered in Đồng Nai, which contained the remains of 13 soldiers along with personal artifacts such as watches and letters.

Similarly, 77-year-old veteran Nguyễn Tất Triển has worked since 1985 to connect information for approximately 2,300 fallen soldiers with their families. Motivated by a sense of duty to those who saved his life during combat, Triển meticulously records details to help families find closure for relatives who have been missing for decades.
