Vietnam's 33rd Diplomatic Conference boosts science, tech and diaspora ties

The 33rd Diplomatic Conference of Vietnam highlighted the growing role of overseas Vietnamese in cultural diplomacy. Experts such as Pham Khanh Nam, editor‑in‑chief of Huong Viet Magazine in Germany, and Hoang Thu Trang, president of the ART SPACE Association in France, called for greater investment in modern cultural storytelling and urged the diplomatic sector to enable young diaspora creators to act as cultural ambassadors.

A separate session on science‑technology diplomacy, co‑chaired by Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung and Public Security Minister Luong Tam Quang, gathered more than 500 delegates from ministries, research institutes, universities and technology firms. Participants discussed Vietnam’s needs for international cooperation in innovation, digital transformation and strategic technology security, emphasizing how diplomatic channels can connect Vietnamese experts abroad with domestic projects and integrate the country into global technology value chains.
