Vietnam's export volumes surge as US and China demand rise
Vietnam's export of bamboo‑woven products reached almost US$400 million in the first five months of 2026, up 8.6% year‑on‑year. The United States remained the largest market at US$190 million, while China showed the strongest growth, with a 53% increase to about US$4.5 million and a three‑fold jump in May.
Seafood exports also accelerated, hitting US$5.8 billion in the first half of 2026, a 12.8% rise from the same period last year. In June, shipments to the United States rose 48% to US$195 million, and sales to China grew 32% to US$257 million. Other rapid‑growing markets included South Korea (+9%) and ASEAN (+16%).
These gains illustrate Vietnam's broader trade recovery, supported by strong demand in major overseas markets and the effective use of free‑trade agreements.
