Vietnam's B‑segment sedans see sales surge and deep price discounts
Honda City recorded 912 sales in June 2026, more than double its May figure and surpassing Toyota Vios, which sold 436 units that month. Over the first half of 2026, City totaled 3,522 units versus Vios’s 4,549, keeping Toyota ahead in cumulative sales but highlighting a tighter monthly rivalry.
To boost sales, manufacturers introduced steep discounts on the three best‑selling B‑segment models. Hyundai Accent offers up to VND 89 million off, making the post‑discount price about VND 350 million. Toyota Vios provides a registration‑fee rebate worth VND 46‑55 million, while Honda City grants a 100% registration‑fee waiver, saving buyers up to VND 56 million. These promotions have pushed the pricing of these sedans below that of some A‑segment cars such as the Kia Morning and Hyundai Grand i10.
