Vietnam's Bui Van Manh Wins $3.2 M Vietlott Jackpot and Reveals Identity

Bui Van Manh, a 42‑year‑old resident of Ho Chi Minh City, won the Power 6/55 Jackpot 1 in Vietlott's draw on 5 June, a prize valued at over VND 83 billion (about US$3.2 million). Unlike most winners, he appeared at the award ceremony without a mask and publicly disclosed his name, becoming one of only nine major jackpot recipients to do so since Vietlott began operations in 2016.

After the mandatory 10 percent personal‑income‑tax deduction, Manh is expected to receive roughly VND 75 billion (US$2.85 million). He bought the winning ticket for VND 70,000 at a sales outlet on Hung Vuong Street and has been playing Vietlott tickets for ten years, previously winning smaller first‑prize prizes. The ceremony was attended by his family, and Vietlott also announced two Jackpot 2 winners who each received VND 2.97 billion, along with numerous lower‑tier prize winners.

The draw’s total payout exceeded VND 92 billion, highlighting the scale of the lottery’s payouts in Vietnam.
