Vietnam's e‑commerce sector poised for major expansion
Vietnam’s e‑commerce market is expected to grow sharply. Industry estimates project the overall digital transformation market to reach about US$4.7 billion in 2025 and climb to US$16.5 billion by 2034, while the enterprise‑software segment could expand from roughly US$277 million in 2025 to US$414 million in 2030. Small‑and‑medium enterprises, which comprise about 98 % of Vietnamese firms, are seen as the primary growth driver, with demand for integrated platforms that simplify sales, customer care and data analytics.
Vietnamobile announced it will enter the digital‑solution space with three initial products: SME360, an all‑in‑one management suite; InsightOS, an AI‑driven analytics tool; and CareLink, a health‑service platform. The carrier aims to move beyond connectivity and address the operational challenges faced by SMEs.
Shopee Vietnam highlighted that the market is shifting from pure scale to quality of experience. The platform reports more than 10,000 new sellers joining each month, a 30 % rise in domestic seller numbers year‑over‑year, and growing purchase frequency and basket size among consumers, especially in rural areas. Shopee is investing in personalised product discovery, livestream and short‑video content, and faster, reliable delivery to meet rising consumer expectations.
