Vietnam’s agricultural exports surge past $2 billion in first half of 2026

Vietnam’s farm‑output trade is expanding rapidly. Export of animal‑feed and related ingredients topped US$1 billion in the first six months of 2026, driven by strong demand from China, Cambodia and Thailand. In the same period, fertilizer shipments generated about US$933 million, with Cambodia, South Korea and the Philippines among the top buyers.

Durian exports also rebounded, reaching over US$562 million – about 45 % of the country’s fruit‑export value – with China accounting for 87 % of that market. Meanwhile, the United States Department of Agriculture projects Vietnam’s rice exports to hit 8.1 million tonnes in 2026, up from earlier forecasts, supported by steady demand from the Philippines and China.

These trends underline Vietnam’s growing role as a major supplier of agricultural commodities in the region, with export earnings climbing sharply across several key product groups.
