Vietnam's currency steadies while firms report strong earnings

The State Bank of Vietnam set the VND/USD central rate at a record 25,405 VND per dollar, with commercial banks quoting around 26,050‑26,460 VND. The US dollar has hovered near a six‑week low and the DXY index stayed below 100 amid mixed expectations about Fed and BOJ policy.

Technology services firm HPT – UPCOM announced FY2025 results of 1.932 trillion VND revenue (138% of plan) and pre‑tax profit of 38 billion VND (115% of plan). It declared a 20% dividend, the highest in years, and said it will accelerate its 2025‑2030 breakthrough strategy.

Domestic gold prices remained stable, with most retailers listing a sell price of about 141.8 million VND per tael, while international gold stayed above US$4,250 per ounce.

Essential food prices continued to fall; pork fell to 60,500 VND per kilogram, the lowest level in a year, driven by ample supply and lower feed costs. Analysts expect further moderation through Q4.

A consumer‑trust survey placed Vietnam at the top of Southeast Asia for digital‑bank confidence (84.7/100), but 79% of respondents flagged online fraud and data‑leak risks as the biggest concern.
