Vietnam's finance sector expands as Index Fintech opens Hanoi office while brokerage competition tightens

Index Fintech inaugurated a new office in Hanoi and launched its AI‑driven virtual assistant, Index AI. The company said the platform integrates big‑data and AI tools to provide real‑time market information, investment analysis and personalized advice, aiming to build a comprehensive digital finance ecosystem in Vietnam. Director Dang Duy Linh highlighted the move as a key step in expanding the firm’s financial‑services ecosystem.

In the same period, the Vietnamese brokerage market saw intensified competition. In Q2 2026 the top ten securities firms held only 65.19% of HoSE brokerage market share—the lowest in five years. VPS remained the leader with a 12.61% share, while SSI held 11.17%. VCBS fell out of the top‑ten list, and Mirae Asset entered at the tenth position. Firms such as VCBS, BSC, VBSE, BVS and PSI are raising capital, with VCBS increasing its charter capital from VND 2,500 billion to VND 8,500 billion, and plans to reach VND 12,500 billion in 2027. Industry analysts note that margin‑debt across the sector now equals the loan portfolio of a top‑10 Vietnamese bank, underscoring the growing importance of capital strength in brokerage competitiveness.
