Vietnam's former child pop stars Xuân Mai, bé Châu and Lon Ton look back

Xuân Mai, bé Châu (real name Nguyễn Huy) and Lon Ton (Chấn Hào) rose to fame as child singers in Vietnam, becoming household names as "giọng ca nhí" and driving CD sales in the early 2000s. Their youthful vocal talent and stage charisma promised future stardom, but the transition to adulthood proved difficult.

Xuân Mai was celebrated for her rare vocal quality and charm, while bé Châu was hailed as a musical prodigy with strong singing and dancing skills, even drawing support from established southern artists. Lon Ton also enjoyed early success and continues to perform, though his once‑renowned “dance‑machine” act has struggled to keep pace with the market’s shift toward digital platforms. As they aged, the trio faced challenges such as voice loss, changing appearance, family pressures and a market that now favors image, strong production teams and online distribution, limiting their ability to sustain the popularity they once held.
