Vietnam's Gia Lai Province Hosts International Quantum Computing Hackathon

Vietnam is intensifying its talent strategy by linking diplomatic outreach with science and innovation. Recent policies elevate quantum technology to a strategic priority, aiming to build a skilled workforce and a supportive ecosystem for advanced research and commercialization.

The National Innovation Center, the Ministry of Finance, Gia Lai Provincial authorities and the VNQuantum network organized the final round of the International Hackathon on Quantum Computing for Sustainable Development Goals 2026. Over 500 experts and young innovators from more than 30 countries gathered in Gia Lai to develop quantum‑based solutions for AI, cybersecurity, finance, health and other sectors. The competition combines training, mentorship, investment linking and incubation to turn promising ideas into commercial projects, illustrating Vietnam’s shift from simply attracting talent to cultivating long‑term collaborative networks.
