Vietnam's Điện Máy Xanh banks over VND 14,000 trillion, earns VND 4.6 billion daily
Điện Máy Xanh, a major Vietnamese retailer of electronics and home appliances, holds a cash and short‑term investment pool exceeding VND 14,000 trillion in bank deposits. This idle cash generates more than VND 4.6 billion in interest each day, contributing roughly VND 1,700 trillion of interest income in 2025 and a total financial revenue of about VND 1,840 trillion for the year.
After accounting for borrowing costs, the financial activities produced around VND 870 trillion of net profit in 2025, about 12% of pre‑tax earnings. By the end of the first quarter of 2026, the company’s cash and short‑term investments rose to over VND 28,500 trillion.
The Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange approved the listing of approximately 1.27 billion shares of Điện Máy Xanh at a reference price of VND 80,000 per share, valuing the firm at over VND 101,000 trillion on debut. The earlier public offering raised more than VND 13,300 trillion, which is being used partly to repay bank loans.
