Vietnam's major airports show significant regional connectivity growth
Three major Vietnamese international airports—Noi Bai, Da Nang, and Tan Son Nhat—have been recognized for significant improvements in air connectivity. According to the 2025 Air Connectivity Index released by Airports Council International Asia Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID), these airports showed notable growth within their respective passenger capacity segments.
Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat were highlighted in the segment serving 25 to 40 million passengers annually, while Da Nang showed prominent improvement in the 5 to 15 million passenger segment. This progress reflects enhanced access to Vietnam via air travel, supporting regional trade, tourism, and passenger movement.
The report notes that air connectivity in the Asia-Pacific region grew by 10% in 2025, with a combined 11% increase across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. Out of 315 airports evaluated, 74% recorded connectivity growth, driven largely by major hub airports expanding their flight networks to meet sustained international travel demand.
