Vietnam's Martyr Nguyễn Đức Châu's 96‑Page Dossier Returned to 93‑Year‑Old Wife After 60 Years

Six decades after teacher‑martyr Nguyễn Đức Châu left for the front during the war, a 96‑page file and personal documents were handed back to his family at the national commemorations conference in 2026. The items were received by his 93‑year‑old wife, former history teacher Bùi Vi Anh, and their son Nguyễn An Hải, who carefully opened each page at their home in Láng ward, Hanoi. The dossier includes Châu’s deployment orders, teaching records from the Hai Phòng teachers’ college (now Hai Phòng University), and other wartime paperwork, symbolising a long‑awaited reunion after more than half a century.

Both Nguyễn Đức Châu and Bùi Vi Anh were teachers who served in the education of southern students relocated to the north. Their story was highlighted at the nationwide tribute to revolutionary veterans, underscoring the personal sacrifices made by families during the conflict.
