Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security seeks Nokia cooperation on 5G and AI

On October 15, Vietnam's Minister of Public Security, General Luong Tam Quang, met with Andrew Cope, Nokia's Managing Director for Asia-Pacific, in Hanoi to discuss technological cooperation.

Minister Quang highlighted Nokia's expertise in 5G, core networks, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. He proposed strengthening collaboration in research, technology transfer, and human resource training to support Vietnam's digital transformation and national security. Key areas of interest include 5G-Advanced, 6G, the Internet of Things (IoT), and automated networks to enhance public security and order.

In a separate meeting on the same day, Minister Quang presided over a review of the Ministry of Public Security's legal documents. The review aims to streamline the legal system, with proposals to abolish 80 documents that are no longer suitable or necessary.
