Vietnam's new TV drama ‘Lửa trắng’ launches on VTV3, tackling drug crime
The television series “Lửa trắng” began airing on VTV3 at 20:00 on Thursdays and Fridays from 18 June, continuing VFC’s 2026 programming renewal. The drama depicts the fight against narcotics as a sophisticated, trans‑national network likened to a multi‑level “white‑pill” operation, and received special support from the C04 Drug Crime Investigation Bureau for script development and production, boosting its realism.
The series, presented at a launch event in Hanoi on 10 June, is set in Sơn Hải province and follows a young woman named Mai who becomes entangled with a ruthless drug kingpin. It explores modern drug issues such as the fictional “Bụi Trắng” (White Powder) spreading through livestreams and youth culture, while highlighting the strategic and psychological challenges faced by police investigators. The cast includes well‑known Vietnamese actors such as Việt Hoa, Bảo Anh and NSƯT Hồ Phong.
