Vietnam's Party Diplomacy Bolsters Foreign Relations and Partnerships

Vice‑minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Manh Cuong said Vietnam’s party diplomacy has become a core pillar of its foreign policy, working alongside state and popular diplomacy to turn political trust into long‑term cooperation. He highlighted the creation of a Strategic Dialogue Mechanism with Singapore’s People’s Action Party and the inaugural Southeast Asian Political Parties Dialogue held in Hanoi in June 2026, underscoring Vietnam’s growing role in multilateral political forums.

The diplomatic push also includes deeper engagement with the United States on strategic technologies, a high‑level visit from Thailand’s parliamentary leaders marking 50 years of bilateral ties, and intensified cooperation with Laos. President To Lam called on ASEAN members to strengthen solidarity and strategic autonomy, while National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man reaffirmed legislative support for the diplomatic sector and upcoming legal reforms affecting overseas workers and diplomatic staff.
