Vietnam diamond retailers pledge to stay open amid market slump

Ho Chi Minh City’s Quy ên Diamond announced it will remain open and continue offering same‑day buy‑back and exchange services, processing transactions in under 15 minutes. The shop stressed that all sold diamonds are genuine, certified by the U.S. Gemological Institute of America (GIA), and urged customers not to resell amid “crowd‑psychology” pressures. It also highlighted new equipment to verify natural versus synthetic stones in response to a recent trans‑national diamond smuggling case that has rattled the market.

In Cần Thơ, Kimberly Diamond’s CEO Thông Trần scheduled a livestream for 17:00 on 18 July 2026 to update the public and answer questions after the brand faced online criticism and admitted service shortcomings following a surge in transactions. The company reiterated that it is operating normally and is cooperating with authorities on misleading third‑party content.
