Vietnam’s Science & Technology Union Calls for Innovation and Youth Entrepreneurship in 9th Congress

The 9th national congress of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA), scheduled for July 2026, will focus on strengthening unity, creativity, and social responsibility among the country's scientific and technological intelligentsia. Associate Professor Phạm Ngọc Linh emphasized that the congress must drive digital transformation, research‑driven growth, and concrete implementation of Party resolutions on science, technology and innovation.

Parallel discussions highlight the need for the Vietnam Youth Union and related organizations to move beyond inspiration‑only entrepreneurship programs toward a living ecosystem that offers mentorship, funding, market access and legal support. Lê Mạnh Cường, president of the Young Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Club, stressed that “entrepreneurship needs a testing environment, mentors, capital, market and practical lessons on management, cash flow, law and human resources.” Both initiatives aim to turn youthful enthusiasm into tangible enterprises that contribute to national economic development and address regional disparities.

The combined agenda seeks to align scientific advancement with youth‑led business creation, reinforcing Vietnam’s strategic push for innovation, digitalization, and private‑sector growth.
