Vietnam's State Securities Commission Touts Crypto Assets as New Pillar of Digital Economy

The State Securities Commission of Vietnam (UBCKNN) hosted a conference on June 5 2026 to outline the legal framework and development direction for crypto‑linked assets and digital securities. Deputy Chairman Bùi Hoàng Hải said tokenized real‑world assets are becoming a cornerstone of the digital economy and highlighted Vietnam's opportunity to attract international capital under the government's digital finance programme.

More than 250 participants from brokerage firms, fund managers, banks, the Vietnam Blockchain and Digital Assets Association, the police anti‑corruption unit and other regulators attended in person or online. Speakers discussed risk‑management, anti‑money‑laundering safeguards and best practices from overseas markets, stressing the need for a transparent, safe ecosystem as pilot markets for crypto assets are launched.

The event aimed to educate investors, promote standard‑setting and foster cooperation among authorities and market players as Vietnam prepares to pilot a regulated crypto‑asset trading platform.
