Vietnam's VNeID app adds electronic health records and immigration lookup services

The government‑run VNeID digital identity platform has expanded its functionality with two new utilities. A electronic health book now lets users view their medical history, diagnoses, hospital stays, prescriptions and other medical documents directly in the app, drawing data from the Ministry of Health and the Vietnam Social Insurance system. The health data are synchronized within 24 hours of each examination and will be fully integrated by mid‑July for records dated before 31 May. In parallel, a free immigration‑information lookup feature enables holders of a Level‑2 digital ID to check entry and exit records online, eliminating the need to visit immigration offices. Both services are designed to streamline public administration, improve data security and support Vietnam’s broader digital‑transformation agenda.
