Vietnam's Xuân Cầu Holdings launches 450 MW Dầu Tiếng 5 solar plant
The Dầu Tiếng 5 solar power plant in Tây Ninh province broke ground with a total investment of VND 7.774 trillion. The project, led by DT5.1 Energy Joint Stock Company – a subsidiary of Xuân Cầu Holdings – will cover about 645 ha and install 450 MW of capacity.
When operational, the plant is expected to generate roughly 808 GWh of clean electricity each year, feeding the national grid and supporting Vietnam’s clean‑energy goals. It will be the first to use a direct power purchase agreement (DPPA) mechanism, with commercial operation slated for December 2027. Chairman Tô Dũng highlighted the project as a milestone for competitive electricity markets and the country’s energy transition.
