Vietri di Potenza hosts sole Basilicata stop of Rural Tour

From July 29 to August 2, the Rural Tour organized by the association Give Back Giovani Aree Interne travelled through Basilicata, Puglia and Molise, bringing twenty young participants to explore best practices in Italy’s internal areas. Vietri di Potenza was the only stop in Basilicata, where the group toured the historic centre and met with Mayor Christian Giordano. The mayor outlined the municipal actions aimed at environmental protection, eco‑compatible development and leveraging local community assets, which draw tourists from across Italy.

The tour continued to Biccari (FG) to examine local cooperatives and to Castel del Giudice (IS), noted for successfully using funds from the Bando Borghi program. The journey concluded in Bagnoli Irpino (AV), which had hosted prior projects. Organizers highlighted the importance of dialogue among local administrators, third‑sector representatives, businesses and residents to foster renewal of marginal territories.
