View Transitions API enables smooth multi-page web experiences

The introduction of the View Transitions API is enabling smoother multi-page experiences for web applications using minimal CSS. This technology allows for dynamic animations, such as fading, sliding, or morphing elements, to preserve context and continuity during navigation.

While early implementations of the API were primarily limited to single-page applications (SPAs), the release of Chrome 125 has introduced cross-document view transitions. This advancement allows multi-page applications (MPAs) to utilize these fluid transitions, reducing cognitive load for users by making page changes feel more intuitive and visually coherent.
