Vifor wind project completes first phase in Romania
The first phase of the Vifor wind project has been completed, with the developer officially registered as an electricity producer in the testing period. This initial stage has an installed capacity of 192 MW and is being developed by Rezolv Energy subsidiary First Look Solutions, supported by the investment fund Actis.
The project was financed through loan facilities totaling up to 291 million euros from a consortium of eight creditors, including Erste Group, UniCredit Group, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
Work is currently underway on the second phase, which aims to add 269 MW of installed capacity through an additional investment of 331 million euros. This expansion involves the construction of 42 concrete foundations, 42 stone platforms for wind turbines, 40 km of access roads, and 75 km of electrical and fiber optic cabling. The project is expected to be finalized by December 2027.
