Vigezzina Centovalli Railway adds Stockhorn peak to Alpine routes

The Vigezzina Centovalli Railway, a 52-kilometer scenic route connecting Italy and Switzerland, is introducing new travel options for the autumn season. Known as the ‘foliage train’ due to the vibrant colors of the Alpine forests, the route travels from Domodossola to Locarno, crossing 83 bridges and 31 tunnels.

A new excursion has been integrated into the Trenino Verde delle Alpi itinerary, allowing passengers to reach the Stockhorn peak in the Bernese Oberland. Travelers can transition from the scenic train at Spiez to a regional train toward Erlenbach im Simmental, eventually using a cable car to reach the summit at nearly 2,200 meters. Dedicated combined tickets are available through BLS, offering savings of up to 35% when paired with daily or two-day passes.
