Viggo Björck scores in debut for Winnipeg Jets

Swedish forward Viggo Björck made an immediate impact in his debut for the Winnipeg Jets during the Prospect Challenge. In a 3-1 victory against the Montreal Canadiens, Björck scored a wraparound goal in the second period following a combination play with teammate Brayden Yager.

Björck, a top selection in the 2026 draft, previously played for Djurgårdens IF and has achieved significant international success, including a gold medal at the 2026 Junior World Championships. Mark Morrison, coach of the Manitoba Moose, praised the young player’s composure, interest, and ability to integrate with teammates.

While Björck has expressed a strong desire to make the Jets' primary roster, he remains focused on the rookie tournament and upcoming training camps. A final decision regarding his placement with the Winnipeg Jets or the Manitoba Moose will be made following preseason games and training sessions.
