Vigo advances public park projects in Barreiro and Coto Canedo

The Vigo City Council is moving forward with several public park projects. The local government is set to approve the contracting of works for a new dog park in Barreiro, located in the Lavadores green zone. The project, valued at approximately 169,000 euros, will cover 1,105 square meters and include fenced areas, wooden play elements, benches, fountains, and waste bins, designed to integrate with the existing wooded environment.

Separately, the Coto Canedo park project in the A Ponte neighborhood has seen a significant budget increase. Originally budgeted at over 8 million euros, a contract modification has raised the total cost to 9.165 million euros, representing a 17.24% increase. The project, being executed by Petrolam Infraestructuras S.L., includes an 18,000-square-meter public space and a 319-space underground parking garage. Political opposition groups have requested access to the files to understand the reasons behind the cost escalation.
