Vigo mayor doubles city subsidies for neighbourhood groups; Galicia funds women's info centres with €5 m
The Vigo City Council approved a near‑doubling of its annual subsidies for neighbourhood and cultural associations, raising the budget from €450,000 to €947,733. The increased funding will cover maintenance, equipment, and investment costs such as building works and property acquisition, with a 15‑day application window after the official notice is published.
The regional government of Galicia (the Xunta) announced a new aid programme that allocates more than €5 million to the 84 existing Centres for Information to Women (CIM). Grants may reach up to €120,000 for joint municipal applications, with an 80 % advance payment. The programme runs from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2027 and is accompanied by a diagnostic study and four strategic lines for strengthening the centres, plus a €265,480 contract to support the federation Fademga Plena Inclusión and its member associations.
