Vigo awards 500,000 euro renovation for Local Police headquarters

The Vigo City Council has approved the awarding of a contract for the comprehensive renovation of the Local Police headquarters located at Paseo de Granada. Mayor Abel Caballero announced that the investment will exceed 500,000 euros to modernize the facilities and address long-standing structural deficiencies.

The project focuses on upgrading essential services, including the complete renewal of climate control, ventilation systems, electrical installations, and the hot water supply. These works follow previous improvements made during the summer, which included repairing the building's roof, upgrading office interiors, and installing energy-efficient lighting.

The decision comes after years of demands from labor unions regarding deteriorating working conditions, such as humidity issues, thermal regulation failures, and obsolete infrastructure. The municipal government stated that the goal is to improve the daily working environment for officers and provide more dignified service to citizens visiting the headquarters.
