AySA privatization bidding deadline extended to September 15

The Argentine government has extended the deadline for submitting bids in the privatization process of Agua y Saneamientos Argentinos (AySA). Following requests from interested companies for more time to prepare documentation, the new deadline for opening offers is set for September 15.

The privatization plan involves a two-stage process. In the first phase, a private operator will acquire 51% of the state-owned shares under a 30-year concession agreement, which includes an option for a 10-year extension. The second stage will involve a public offering of 39% of the shares on the capital market, while the remaining 10% will be held by employees through a participation program.

The successful concession will grant exclusive rights to water and sewage services in the City of Buenos Aires and 26 districts within the Buenos Aires metropolitan area. Additionally, the Water and Sanitation Regulatory Entity (ERAS) has approved a tariff action plan for the 2027-2031 period to ensure service continuity starting January 1, 2027.
