Vigo BNG demands school meal subsidy resolution before school year

The Bloque Nacionalista Galego (BNG) has called on the Vigo City Council to expedite the resolution of school meal subsidies before the new academic year begins on September 9. The political group is demanding that the municipal government resolve pending applications so that approximately 4,000 families can know whether they will receive assistance.

BNG spokesperson Xabier P. Igrexas noted that while the early application period was a positive step, four months should be sufficient to process documentation. The party warned that delays create uncertainty for families who rely on these funds and can place a financial burden on parent associations (ANPAs) that have previously had to cover costs to ensure service continuity.
