Vigo completes Lepanto street renovation

Mayor Abel Caballero inaugurated the renovated Lepanto street in Vigo after more than €1 million in humanisation works. The project added widened sidewalks, 19 new streetlights, 22 trees, new benches and waste bins, and removed the long‑standing “scalextric” structure that had divided the road.

The upgrade is part of a wider urban improvement that includes a new tunnel providing direct highway access, the Vialia commercial‑rail complex, and the re‑ordering of the station square. Caballero also announced the final approval of an expropriation plan to create a 16‑metre access to the Parroco Don Camilo school, with a €400 000 investment and a total project cost of €1.3 million, after four years of delay.
