Vigo forums drive international Blue Economy cooperation
International stakeholders gathered in Vigo, Spain, for the Blue Economy Business Forum and the 14th International Conxemar Congress to discuss the future of the seafood industry and aquatic resource sustainability. The event serves as a platform for discussing international trade, artificial intelligence, digital tracking, and technological innovation within the fishing sector.
Angola and Spain have moved to strengthen cooperation regarding the Blue Economy. Discussions focused on investment opportunities in aquaculture, shipbuilding, logistics, and scientific research. Proposed initiatives include a strategic partnership between the ports of Luanda and Vigo, as well as joint technical and scientific training programs between Angolan and Spanish institutions.
Mozambique, represented by the Blue Economy Development Fund (PROAZUL), is also participating to showcase the country's potential in the sector. The Mozambican delegation aims to establish contacts with strategic actors in the maritime value chain and monitor global trends in digitalization and sustainable industry practices.
