Vigo Free‑Trade Zone Approves €123 million 2027 Budget for Tech and Urban Projects
The Consorcio de la Zona Franca de Vigo approved its 2027 budget, allocating more than €123.5 million— a 47.6% increase over 2026. The multi‑year plan through 2030 foresees over €500 million in investments, the highest in the consortium’s history.
Key allocations include €22 million for the VgoTIC Global HUB, €19.6 million for the expansion and modernization of the Balaídos industrial park, €7.6 million for the Parque Tecnológico y Logístico, €7.1 million for new logistics warehouses at PLISAN, €2 million for a photonic semiconductor production plant, and €3.3 million for the World Car Center. More than €38 million is earmarked for urban revitalisation projects such as the Panificadora, the new Guixar neighbourhood, and the conversion of existing buildings for an audiovisual hub.
State delegate David Regades emphasized that the zone will again be the main investor in the area in 2027, aiming to boost enterprise, create qualified jobs and advance strategic projects centred on innovation and new industrial sectors. Mayor Abel Caballero called the budget an extraordinary step to position Vigo at the forefront of new technologies.
