Vigo hosts community flea markets and classical music street performances
Vigo is hosting a series of cultural and community events designed to revitalize public spaces and local neighborhood life.
In the O Calvario district, the inaugural edition of the ‘Folla de Lata’ flea market took place on October 3. Organized by Bego López Arana in collaboration with the Asociación de Veciños do Calvario, the event featured between 34 and 36 stalls. The market focused on circular economy and community interaction, offering vintage clothing, antiques, second-hand items, jewelry, illustration, and local crafts. The initiative aims to recover the traditional spirit of street bazaars and encourage social exchange among residents.
Additionally, the ‘Conexións’ cultural initiative is bringing music to the streets of Vigo. On October 4, the Grupo Conexións Clásico, featuring Luis Caballero, Samuel Serrano, and Yago Vázquez Pateiro, performed works by Bach, Mozart, and Morricone at the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The program continues on October 6 with performances at the Mercado del Calvario and a folk concert at Paseo de Bouzas, incorporating medieval music to complement the city’s Romanesque heritage.
