Vigo hosts fantasy film poster exhibition for GFFF anniversary
The Galician Freaky Film Festival (GFFF) is celebrating its tenth anniversary with the exhibition ‘Carteles Fantásticos,’ hosted at the Sede Afundación in Vigo. The exhibition features a selection of original posters and film stills from the Jean-Loup Passek Cinema Museum in Melgaço, Portugal.
The collection, curated by the late French critic and programmer Jean-Loup Passek, offers a chronological journey through the history of fantasy and horror cinema, spanning from the silent film era to the 1980s. Featured works include iconic titles such as ‘Nosferatu,’ ‘Psycho,’ ‘The Exorcist,’ ‘Jaws,’ and ‘The Shining.’
The exhibition highlights how different European graphic schools—such as the Polish school’s painterly style, the Czech tradition’s geometric synthesis, and French narrative elegance—reinterpreted the same cinematic imagery through diverse visual languages. The display will be available to the public until October 3, 2026.
