Vigo implements new traffic and VTC controls for Conxemar

During the Conxemar event held at the Ifevi fairgrounds in Vigo, local authorities have implemented new measures to manage traffic and transportation services.

Vigo Local Police have deployed checkpoints near the venue to identify Vehicle with Driver (VTC) services, such as Uber, operating without the necessary municipal licenses. Using a specialized application, officers can monitor trip origins, destinations, and histories to ensure vehicles are not performing unauthorized urban trips.

To address previous issues with congestion, a new traffic plan has been implemented to prevent the long queues that typically extend to the AP-9 highway. Key changes include designating Avenida del Tranvía as an exclusive access route and establishing a direct connection between the AP-9 and the Ifevi parking area. These measures aim to facilitate movement for the approximately 10,000 daily attendees and exhibitors.
