Vigo inaugurates underwater viewer and hosts maritime summit
The Vigo Port Authority has inaugurated the Atlántida underwater viewer at the Peiraos do solpor on the Bouzas seafront. The installation features an octagonal chamber with large methacrylate windows designed to withstand high water pressure and tidal variations, allowing visitors to observe various marine species and local ecosystems.
In conjunction with maritime developments, the Institute of Viguese Studies and the Vigo Port Authority are organizing a colloquium titled ‘Vigo e o mar, un futuro sostible’ (Vigo and the sea, a sustainable future). The event aims to discuss the relationship between the city and the sea, focusing on balancing economic development with sustainability and urban needs. Participants include leaders from the Vigo Port Authority, the ARVI Shipowners Cooperative, and the National Association of Canners (Anfaco-Cytma).
