Vigo Heat Alert Lifted as Temperatures Drop Below 30°C

The regional government of Galicia deactivated the heat alert for Vigo and the coastal area of Pontevedra after a forecast of cooler weather. Vigo recorded a peak of 39.1 °C on Friday, but temperatures are expected to stay under 30 °C this week, with night lows below 20 °C. A dense fog over the Ría lowered temperatures by more than ten degrees, with the port measuring 22.9 °C.

Alerts remain in interior provinces: red alerts cover parts of Lugo and Ourense, orange alerts affect interior areas of A Coruña and Pontevedra, and a yellow alert is in place for the Miño valley of Ourense. Outdoor sporting activities were suspended in red‑zone municipalities, while other areas are advised to adjust schedules and avoid the hottest periods. Residents are urged to stay hydrated and seek shade.
