Vigo launches free guided tours of new O Casal water treatment plant

The City Council of Vigo has added the new O Casal water treatment plant (ETAP) to its municipal program, ‘Descubre el ciclo del agua de tu ciudad’ (Discover your city's water cycle). This initiative offers free guided tours to help citizens learn about the city's water supply and sanitation infrastructure.

Guided visits will take place on the last Tuesday of every month. Tours are approximately one hour long and are organized into groups of up to 25 people, with two available shifts at 11:00 and 16:30. Interested participants must register in advance via the municipal telephone service, 010.

During the tour, visitors can observe the water arrival and treatment process, the new purification building, and the facility's laboratory. Mayor Abel Caballero highlighted the advanced technology integrated into the plant, noting that the project involved an investment of 23 million euros. The municipal program also includes other facilities, such as the Lagares treatment plant.
